Overview:

We can’t deliver good care if we aren’t well ourselves…

Within the patient-focused world of practice, although not deliberate, it is common for self-care to be considered as a luxury; in fact it is intricately connected to positive patient outcomes. This session explores the science underpinning wellbeing, team performance and patient outcomes. We will consider the challenge of self-care in veterinary practice, and realistic, practical strategies to help teams and practices meet human needs.

We will discuss balanced ways to build resilience constructively from an organisational, team and individual perspective.

Using evidence from healthcare and psychology we explore the ‘HALT’ acronym as a means of building a wellbeing culture within teams.

Who is this course suitable for?

All members of veterinary teams, both clinical and non-clinical.

There is great benefit for teams discussing the complex issue of wellbeing collectively and to ensure that the concepts are embraced equally across all levels.

Service classification:

Practices & teams, corporate organisations

Course length:

60 minutes (online)

"The VetLed Leadership Programme has been an invaluable resource for our leadership team, helping us explore our individual strengths and challenges while aligning our leaders towards a common goal.  From the first session, we noticed a difference in confidence with leadership decisions, using tools that prioritize people and foster a healthy and sustainable practice culture.

Their supportive and engaging course leaders provide real-life insight into veterinary practice and create an environment where the team feels encouraged to speak up in group sessions.

I would highly recommend VetLed for any team that understands the importance of their people and the team culture in creating success.”
