Overview:
Culture is key to team success, affecting recruitment, wellbeing, patient safety, and efficiency. But what does ‘culture’ really mean in practice? In this introductory session, we’ll explore this definition, together with how it relates to behaviour, psychology, and team dynamics. You'll discover the fundamentals for supporting a culture that is aligned with your practice values through conscious and deliberate actions. Drawing on our team’s diverse experiences, both from inside and outside the veterinary sector, we’ll break down the theory into practical steps. All the talks I watched on Thursday were amazing, but I especially enjoyed the importance of non-clinical skills development in university and EMS. It was really refreshing and empowering to watch these incredibly inspirational women speak about their journeys to get to where they are now. It was truly eye-opening and awe-inspiring.

“We worked with VetLed for an intensive, and brilliant, year. They created a bespoke programme for our practice after chatting through where we were and where we wanted to be. To say it was helpful is a massive understatement! They know what they are talking about and the observation days they conducted gave us massive insight into areas we had not seen we could improve on. I can't recommend their help and support enough!”

‘Amazing and inspiring as always, so many ideas and concepts to take away and take back. Came just at the right time for me when I've maybe been flagging a little professionally. You have all helped stoke that fire and reinvigorate my enthusiasm. Incredibly grateful for this community. Great few days, really enjoyed it, already excited about next year!’

“In a busy multi-disciplinary referral hospital like ours, Human Factors plays a key role in team dynamics, staff wellbeing, and ultimately patient care. The support of VetLed has been invaluable in improving our knowledge in this area.
The VetLed team worked with colleagues from across the hospital over an extended period, using observations, frameworks, tools, and techniques that we can take forward on our Human Factors improvement journey.
We are grateful for the support of VetLed and would not hesitate to work with them again in the future.”

FAQs
Our taster courses are designed to be delivered online to reduce the travel requirements to allow them to fit within a working day. We do sometimes deliver these sessions in-person, if they are combined with another service such as a Practice Observation Day.
Our short courses are designed to introduce the themes, establishing an underlying understanding and to build interest in the topic. Our half day workshops give greater opportunity to delve deeper into these ideas and apply them specifically in your own practice context.
