All the talks I watched on Thursday were amazing, but I especially enjoyed the importance of non-clinical skills development in university and EMS. It was really refreshing and empowering to watch these incredibly inspirational women speak about their journeys to get to where they are now. It was truly eye-opening and awe-inspiring.

Wow, what a conversation starter!
The VetLed Civility training was very impactful really focusing in on how our behaviour towards each other affects patient care. VetLed presented theory and hard-hitting stories but also left our team with a system of tackling incivility practice-wide. This course fitted the bill, Thank You!

“The practical day was so helpful. Cat and Sara created an extremely safe environment and were so kind, patient and understanding. Everyone in my group commented on how they felt they could be completely open and share mistakes, silly questions etc.”

"The VetLed Leadership Programme has been an invaluable resource for our leadership team, helping us explore our individual strengths and challenges while aligning our leaders towards a common goal. From the first session, we noticed a difference in confidence with leadership decisions, using tools that prioritize people and foster a healthy and sustainable practice culture.
Their supportive and engaging course leaders provide real-life insight into veterinary practice and create an environment where the team feels encouraged to speak up in group sessions.
I would highly recommend VetLed for any team that understands the importance of their people and the team culture in creating success.”

‘I was hesitant about it being all virtual and how engaging it would feel, however the tech has been easy to navigate and I haven't had any issues. The networking session was run really well and I enjoyed the opportunity for discussion.‘

“Training and understanding of how the brain works has encouraged people to be braver and speak out. Staff understand it is better to talk to each other rather than harbour resentment. There is now an overall improvement in tolerance and respect towards each other, particularly where there had been previous issues. People are more confident to suggest ideas and more willing to listen.”

FAQs
Many teams choose to start their practice/organisation Human Factors journey with VetLed with a short taster such as this course. They can spend time discussing a range of topics i) so that they have a variety of new tools and skills to apply in practice ii) to identify and explore which areas they would like to target in more detail. This particularly resonates for teams who are interested in engaging in extended VetLed support, covering multiple topics over a period of a year or more. If a fundamentals course isn’t for you, other groups choose to explore a specific topic that they believe will resonate strongly such as our Civility Saves Lives Programme. Others choose a more practical approach by electing for our in-practice observation day
Our taster courses are designed to be delivered online to reduce the travel requirements to allow them to fit within a working day. We do sometimes deliver these sessions in-person, if they are combined with another service such as a Practice Observation Day.
